Why Sidecars
I'm the race mechanic for Tom Hanks and Phil Biggs - World Championship sidecar racers - and having had the opportunity to passenger at tests with Tom piloting the real desire was to drive. When Andy asked me to have a go at piloting with him as passenger I jumped at the chance. As a result of that test Andy offered me the opportunity to drive for Team WER there was no way I would say NO!

During 2003 we entered three race meetings and under the guidance of Tom Hanks we improved each time we went out on the track. As my skills as a driver developed and after taking advice from Tom we have decided to switch to a BAKER chassis for 2004.

Most memorable sidecar racing experience to date
In our first race at Mallory park we entered the new chicane 'Edwina’s’ for the first time at race speed; unfortunately Andy didn’t get out left and as I turned in we nearly flipped! I was forced to take to the gravel trap which meant we dropped a few places. Andy won’t forget to get out left there again!

Philosophy to racing
Our primary goal for each race is to finish and hopefully at the same time improve our techniques.

Sidecar racing is the ultimate test of trust and teamwork. Having the confidence that Andy will do his job right allows me to keep pushing harder - to really see how fast I can drive.
